Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit are appealing for additional victims and witnesses after a man was charged in connection with multiple alleged sexual assaults in the Town of Aurora.

Police say the incidents occurred on Thursday, March 19, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., in the area of Yonge Street and Wellington Street. During that time, the suspect allegedly approached three individuals, all unknown to him, and allegedly touched them for a sexual purpose.

Officers responded to the area and arrested the suspect a short distance away.

Investigators have identified the accused as 27-year-old Ethan Smith of Aurora. He has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.

Police believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. A photograph of the suspect has been released in an effort to encourage others to contact investigators.

Given the location and time of day, authorities also believe there may be witnesses who have not yet spoken with police.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the York Regional Police as the investigation continues.
