Police in Vaughan are investigating a targeted shooting at a home that occurred just days after an attempted arson at the same property.
According to York Regional Police, officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in the area of Kleinburg Summit Way and First Nations Trail. When they arrived, they found shell casings in the driveway of the residence. Investigators say a black SUV was seen fleeing the area immediately after the shots were fired.
No injuries were reported.
The shooting comes two days after an attempted vehicle arson at the same home. In the early hours of Monday, March 23, a dark-coloured sedan pulled up outside the residence. Two suspects exited the vehicle, poured gasoline on a car parked in the driveway, and attempted to set it on fire, but were unsuccessful.
Police have released descriptions of the two suspects involved in the arson attempt. One is described as wearing all black clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants. The second suspect is described as having a light complexion and wearing a red bandana, a black hoodie, a white T-shirt, and black sweatpants.
Investigators are working to determine whether the shooting and attempted arson are connected.
They are appealing to the public for help, particularly anyone who may have surveillance or dash-camera footage from the area around the times of the incidents.
