Toronto man charged in alleged condo rental fraud investigation

The Toronto Police Service has announced an arrest in connection with a fraud investigation involving rental properties in the city. 

Police say they first received complaints in September 2025 and January 2026 regarding apartment rentals that were allegedly obtained through fraudulent means by the same individual. 14 Division Fraud Office began an investigation. 

According to investigators, the suspect is accused of securing a condominium rental fraudulently between September 2025 and February 2026. A second condo rental is also alleged to have been obtained fraudulently between January 2026 and March 2026. 

On Friday, March 13, 2026, officers arrested Lucas Jenkins, a 29-year-old Toronto resident. He has been charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and four counts of uttering forged document. 

Authorities believe there may be additional victims and have released an image of the accused as part of the investigation. 

Jenkins was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at 10 Armoury Street on Monday, March 16, 2026.
