Police seek three suspects in Burlington tow truck arson

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating an arson after a tow truck caught fire in the early hours of February 26, 2026. 

At approximately 2:45 a.m., police and Burlington Fire Services responded to reports of a blaze involving a tow truck on Morris Drive, near Harvester Road. The truck, which was hauling a flatbed trailer loaded with an orange Hitachi excavator, was fully engulfed in flames, including both the truck’s cab and the excavator. 

Investigators have classified the fire as a deliberate act of arson. Three individuals were reportedly seen in the area driving a dark-coloured pickup truck around the time of the incident.  

Police have released photos of the vehicle as part of their ongoing investigation. 

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2316. Additionally, anyone who may have captured dash camera footage from the Harvester Road and Morris Drive area between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. is asked to come forward.
