Peel police investigate 2022 disappearance of a woman as homicide

The Peel Regional Police are now treating the disappearance of a woman reported missing in 2022 as a homicide and are appealing to the public for information. 

According to police, the 38-year-old woman, Mezhgan Aini, who also went by “Sara” or “Sarah”, lived in the area of Queen Frederica Drive and Dundas Street East in Mississauga. She was last seen in June 2022. Her family in Afghanistan reported her being missing to Peel Regional Police in June 2025 after being unable to contact her for an extended period. 

The Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau is conducting the investigation and is asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area where Aini lived between June and September 2022, or anyone with information regarding her disappearance, or her family, to contact the bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 3205.
