The Toronto Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with a series of commercial break-and-enter incidents in the city’s downtown core.
In a news release issued Sunday, police said they received reports of three separate commercial break-and-enters that occurred on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the area of Bay Street and Wellesley Street West.
Investigators allege the suspect used a glass-breaker tool to shatter the front entrances of the businesses and force entry. It is further alleged that the suspect stole cash registers from two of the locations before fleeing each scene prior to police arrival.
Police describe the suspect as a man with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket covered in white paint stains with a white and red logo patch on the right arm. He was also wearing a black hooded sweater, a black patterned bandana, black pants, and black shoes with white laces.
Police have released images of the suspect.
