The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says a lengthy drug trafficking investigation has led to the seizure of 56 kilograms of opium and cocaine and the arrest of a 22-year-old Toronto man.
Investigators with the Regional Drug and Organized Crime Unit began the probe in the fall of 2025, targeting illicit drug trafficking operations within the Greater Toronto Area. The investigation, known as Project Forge, resulted in a suspect being identified after several months of investigative work
On February 9, 2026, officers executed search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at two locations and a vehicle connected to the investigation. Police say the searches led to the arrest of Aden Zedan, 22, of Toronto.
As part of the operation, officers seized 36 kilograms of opium and 20 kilograms of cocaine, along with between $15,000 and $20,000 in bundled Canadian currency. Police estimate the wholesale value of the seized drugs at approximately $1.5 million.
Zedan has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking opium. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
