Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have arrested and charged three suspects in connection with a 2024 home invasion in the area of King Township.
Police say officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 6:23 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a residence in the area of Paradise Valley Trail and Fairmont Ridge Trail. When officers arrived, they located a 39-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a trauma centre with injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Investigators determined that two armed suspects had forcibly entered the home. A man who was not associated with the residence attended to assist the homeowners and was confronted by the suspects. During the confrontation, he was shot before the suspects fled the scene.
Following an extensive investigation, search warrants were executed on February 26, 2026, in Grimsby, Toronto, and Oshawa, resulting in the arrest of three suspects.
Clayton MacFarlane, 44, of Oshawa, and Darnell Campbell, 33, of Grimsby, have been charged with attempted murder, robbery with a firearm, and several additional offences. A third suspect, Andrew Dove, 39, of Toronto, has been charged with breaching a release order.
Police say the suspects’ images have been released as investigators believe they may be connected to other similar incidents.
