Toronto police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old man following a drug trafficking investigation that led to the seizure of a loaded handgun and cocaine.
The Toronto Police Service said in a news release that its Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force began investigating suspected drug trafficking activity before executing a search warrant on Feb. 20, 2026, in the area of Wilson Avenue and Jane Street. During the search, officers allegedly seized a loaded handgun and a quantity of cocaine believed to be intended for trafficking. Police also released images of the items seized.
Joshua Samuels, 27, of Toronto, has been charged with possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm knowing its possession is prohibited, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and three counts of failing to comply with a weapons prohibition order.
He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Room 107.
