Toronto Police have announced arrests following a firearm-related investigation. In a news release issued yesterday, police said officers from the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force began investigation into firearm possession.
Police say that on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, officers executed search warrants at a residence and a vehicle in the area of Trafalgar Road and Upper Middle Road in Oakville. During the searches, police seized a loaded Glock handgun equipped with a drum magazine, ammunition, and a large quantity of cocaine allegedly intended for trafficking.
Police allege that officers recovered and confiscated the loaded firearm along with the drugs as part of the operation.
Zari Ashman, 27, of Oakville, has been arrested and charged with knowingly possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing a loaded regulated firearm, possessing a prohibited or restricted weapon or device without authorization, and possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking.
Brooke Bonazza, 27, also of Oakville, faces the same charges: possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon or device, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Both accused were scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, Toronto, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 402.
