Hamilton police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday evening on Wilson Street at the eastbound exit from Highway 403.
Police said in a news release that the crash happened around 7:33 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2026. Police say a 2025 Jeep Compass travelling westbound on Wilson Street collided with a 2022 Acura MDX that had exited the highway and was attempting to turn left onto Wilson.
The 52-year-old male driver of the Acura was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His 43-year-old female passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The 29-year-old woman driving the Jeep was treated and is reported to be in stable condition.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit, with assistance from forensic officers, is continuing to investigate. Police say all possible factors are being examined, and there is currently no confirmation that speed, weather, or impairment contributed to the crash.
Wilson Street was closed for several hours and reopened at about 4:15 a.m. Police are asking anyone with information or dash camera footage to contact investigators.
