Two charged after Toronto police seize loaded handgun, drugs in Brampton raids

The Toronto Police Service says two men are facing multiple charges following a firearm investigation that led officers to execute search warrants at two Brampton locations. 

According to police, members of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force began investigating the alleged possession of firearms. On Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, officers carried out search warrants at properties in the Queen Street East and Highway 50 area, as well as near The Gore Road and Countryside Drive. 

Investigators allege that during the searches, officers seized a loaded Glock 26 handgun equipped with an extended magazine and ammunition. Police also say they located a large quantity of cocaine and fentanyl believed to be intended for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say Jesse Dawson, 35, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm knowing he was unauthorized, three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. 

Jasdeep Tatla, 33, of Brampton, was also arrested and charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, police said.
