Toronto police say a 27-year-old man is facing multiple firearm-related charges following an early morning incident in the city’s west end.
According to the Toronto Police Service, officers were called to the area of Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West at approximately 6:07 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, after reports of a person with a gun.
Investigators allege that the accused discharged a firearm during a dispute in the area. Members of the 12 Division Primary Response Unit attended the scene and took a suspect into custody.
Police further allege that officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun at the time of the arrest. An image related to the investigation has been released.
Shane Harty, 27, of Toronto, has been charged with discharge of a firearm with intent to wound, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a loaded restricted firearm.
