Hamilton Police Service have arrested three youths following a stolen vehicle investigation in the city’s east end.
Officers responded to a 911 call on Feb. 10, 2026, about a suspicious vehicle occupied by masked individuals. Police confirmed the vehicle had previously been reported stolen. Specialized units located the vehicle travelling through the area, where it was allegedly driven at high speeds, made unsafe lane changes and failed to obey traffic signals. Surveillance was discontinued due to public safety concerns.
The vehicle was later found parked and unoccupied. Through continued investigation, officers arrested three youths at a nearby retail store without incident. One youth was found in possession of a key fob linked to the stolen vehicle, which was recovered and seized for forensic examination.
A 15-year-old male faces multiple charges, including possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with release order. He was held for a bail hearing. A 13-year-old and a 12-year-old are each charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and were released pending court appearances.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the youths cannot be released. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
