Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Mississauga that happened more than a year ago.
In a news release, police said the fatal collision occurred on January 14, 2025, at Loonlane Avenue and Bristol Road West. Investigators allege that a black SUV struck a pedestrian who was crossing the crosswalk on Bristol Road West. According to police, the driver allegedly fled the scene instead of stopping to provide assistance.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was transported to a trauma centre, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Sundeep Sekhon, 26, of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with:
Failure to Stop After Accident Resulting in Death
Dangerous Operation Causing Death
Sekhon was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
