Toronto man arrested and charged with first-degree murder for 2024 fatal shooting in Brampton

Peel Regional Police say that investigators from Homicide Bureau have arrested and charged a wanted Toronto man in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in 2024 in Brampton. 

Police say that the shooting happened on May 11, 2024, at around 4:18 a.m. in the area of Kennedy Road and Stafford Drive in Brampton. A 43-year-old man was found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a trauma centre for treatment, where he died. Police identified the victim as 43-year-old Dayne Gordon of Toronto. 

In an update, police said that On February 9, 2026,, the Homicide Bureau arrested 41-year-old Winardo Winteria Morris of Toronto and charged him with first-degree murder. He remains in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
