37-year-old from Brampton identified as victim of fatal shooting in Woodbine Shopping Centre parking lot

Toronto police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place at Woodbine Shopping Centre over the weekend. 

According to the Toronto Police Service, the victim has been identified as 37-year-old Chanda Kumar Raja Nandakumar of Brampton. Police say this is Toronto’s third homicide of 2026. 

Investigators say the shooting occurred on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:31 p.m., in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Centre in the area of Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27. Officers arrived at the scene and located the victim suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
