Toronto police have identified a 16-year-old boy who died following a shooting in the city’s east end Thursday afternoon.
Officers were called to the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Bellamy Road North at approximately 4:09 p.m. on February 5, 2026, after reports that someone had been shot. When police arrived, they located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
The teenager was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. In a News Release on Thursday Police have identified the victim as Kian Sam, 16, of Toronto.
The Toronto Police Service’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
An image of the victim has been released as investigators work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
