Five arrested, firearms seized in Toronto police investigation

Toronto Police Service has made arrests in connection with a firearm investigation. 

According to a police news release, on Monday, February 2, 2026, members of the Toronto Police Service commenced an investigation into the possession of a firearm after identifying several suspects. 

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, officers from 32 Division, with assistance from the Emergency Task Force, executed three Criminal Code search warrants in the Ranee Avenue and Varna Drive area. 

It is alleged that during the searches, officers: 

seized three semi-automatic handguns 

seized a quantity of ammunition and cocaine 

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested on Tuesday, February 3, 2026: 

Eh Htoo Na, 27, of Toronto 

Thu Ya Oo, 30, of Toronto 

Gu Htoo, 47, of Toronto 

Eh Tha Nay, 23, of Toronto 

Eh Nay Ta, 21, of Toronto 

They have been jointly charged with: 

three counts of Possession of a Firearm Without Holding a Licence 

two counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession Is Unauthorized 

two counts of Possession of a Loaded Firearm 

three counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm 

possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking 

The accused were scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 10 Armoury Street, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in courtroom 107. 

Images of the seized firearms have been released by police.
