Following a winter storm, the City of Brampton’s  emergency parking regulations across the city are activated . Violations of these rules may result in fines of up to $500.

During snowfall and snow-clearing operations, on-street parking is strictly prohibited. All special parking privileges are suspended. Vehicles parked on city streets may be ticketed or towed, with all related costs charged to the vehicle owner.

Residents must remove snow from the sidewalk in front of their property ,including any sidewalk bordering a corner lot, no later than 11:00 a.m. on the day following a snowfall. Snow removed must not be placed onto the roadway

If sidewalks are not cleared, enforcement officers may investigate following a complaint. In cases of non-compliance, the City may carry out the snow removal, with the cost added to the property owner’s tax bill. An additional fine of up to $250 may also be issued.

Senior citizens and individuals with disabilities may apply for the City’s Snow Removal Financial Assistance Program, which helps cover the cost of professional snow-clearing services.
