Man and woman charged After firearm and fentanyl seizure in Toronto

Toronto Police Service say two people are facing charges following a firearm investigation in the city’s northwest end. 

Officers with the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force launched an investigation into the possession of firearms. 

On Monday, January 19, 2026, police executed a search warrant in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area.During the search, officers allegedly seized a loaded assault-style rifle with an overcapacity magazine. Police also recovered ammunition and a large quantity of fentanyl. An image of the seized items has been released by investigators. 

Alpha Gasoama, 36, of Toronto, was arrested and faces multiple firearm and drug-related charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, drug trafficking offences, and six counts of breaching a firearm prohibition order. 

Nadia Buchanan, 45, of Toronto, was also arrested and charged with similar offences, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
