Two arrested, multiple firearms seized in firerams investigation

Toronto Police say two suspects have been arrested and charged following a firearm investigation. 

In a news release, police said officers with the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force launched the investigation earlier this month. As part of the probe, officers executed a search warrant on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at a property in York Region near Jane Street and Highway 7. 

During the search, investigators allegedly seized six firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, firearm magazines, and a silencer. Police also released a photograph of the seized items. 

Luigi Martellacci, 71, of Bolton, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including three counts of possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of unloaded regulated firearm, two counts of careless storage of firearm, and ten counts of possession of prohibited device or ammunition. 

Karima Premji, 52, of Vaughan, was also arrested and charged with the same set of offences, including three counts of possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of an unloaded regulated firearm, two counts of careless storage and ten counts of possession of prohibited device or ammunition. 

Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
