Aurora man charged in extortion investigation in Vaughan

The York Regional Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau investigators have charged a suspect in connection with an extortion investigation in the city of Vaughan. This investigation was conducted by York Regional Police in partnership with the South Simcoe Police Service.

In a news release, police said the investigation began in December 2025. Police stated that the suspect had provided private loans to the victim since 2018 and charged exaggerated interest. The suspect allegedly threatened the victim and used violence to collect money from them.

As part of the investigation, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Aurora on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 and they arrested the suspect. During the search, police seized more than $10,000 in Canadian currency and seven luxury watches valued at more than $170,000.

Police arrested 34-year-old Adam Sirizzotti of the Town of Aurora and charged him with extortion and possession of property obtained by crime. Investigators have released a photograph of the suspect, saying they believe there may be more victims connected to the case. Police are urging anyone who may have information or who may have been affected to come forward.
