Waterloo police charge three from Kicthener in a drug trafficking investigation

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested and charged three suspects as part of a drug trafficking investigation, during which drugs, cash, and a firearm were also seized. This dates back to July 2025, when investigators from the WRPS Intelligence Unit, Gangs and Hate Crime Team began this investigation.

Under the investigation, on December 30, 2025, investigators from the WRPS Gangs and Hate Crime Team, working with the Drugs and Firearms Unit, the Offender Management Unit, and the Emergency Response Team, carried out search warrants at two residences. During the searches, police seized approximately seven kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, a firearm, fentanyl, cocaine, opiates in pill form, psilocybin, marijuana, cash, and drug indicia.

Police arrested three suspects from Kitchener, identified as a 36-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and a 48-year-old man. They are facing charges as below:

The 36-year-old Kitchener male and female were arrested and charged with: 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance x 4 counts. 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule IV Substance. 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule III Substance. 

Possession for the Purpose of Sale of Distribution – Federal Cannabis Act. 

Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized. 

Careless Storage of a Firearm. 

The 48-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with: 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance X 2 counts. 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule IV Substance. 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule III Substance. 

Possession for the Purpose of Sale of Distribution – Federal Cannabis Act. 

The accused parties were held for a bail hearing.
