Peel police have arrested and charged three suspects in connection with a homicide that occurred in Brampton near Shoppers World mall earlier this month.
According to a news release from Peel Regional Police, a shooting incident took place outside the Shoppers World Mall, located on Main Street in Brampton, at around 7 p.m. on Monday, December 8. As the victim was driving out of the plaza, the suspects approached him and opened fire.
Officers found a 25-year-old man at the scene who had been shot inside his vehicle. The injured 25-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police investigated the homicide and arrested three suspects and charged them with first-degree murder.
Those arrested and charged include 20-year-old Elijah Turney of Brampton, 20-year-old Malik Young of Brampton, and 25-year-old Omar Ayah of Toronto.
All three accused are scheduled to attend bail hearings at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Police say they believe the incident was targeted and poses no continued risk to the public.
