Project Endless results in eight arrests

York Regional Police Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Unit has charged eight individuals in connection with drug trafficking and firearms offences as part of an investigation called Project Endless, which began in December 2024.

The investigation was carried out in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police Border Drug Interdiction Task Force and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. It was launched in December 2024 after police identified a suspect who was allegedly importing and exporting large quantities of controlled substances. Police later came to know about additional people believed to be connected to drug trafficking in the York Region and other locations across Ontario.

As part of the investigation, search warrants were executed at five residences in the Greater Toronto Area on October 25, 2025. As a result, police arrested eight suspects and laid a total of 34 charges against them. During the investigation, police seized various controlled substances, including methamphetamine, raw fentanyl, cocaine, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) tablets, and illicit cannabis. Police also confiscated over $300,000 in cash, three guns along with ammunition, and two vehicles.   

Eight people are facing charges as below: 

Anh Nhat LE, 30, of the City of Markham: Trafficking a Controlled Substance x2 

Hong Luong LUU, 45, of the City of Hamilton: Trafficking a Controlled Substance x7 , Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution and Counselling Offence that is Not Committed 

Josip TRDINA, 43, of the Town of Georgetown: Trafficking a Controlled Substance , Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking , Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution , Careless Storage of a Firearm x2  and Careless Storage of Ammunition x2 

Son Tung NGUYEN, 40, of the City of Toronto: Trafficking a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x5 

Ahmad RUSTAM, 34, of the City of Toronto: Trafficking a Controlled Substance x2 , Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4  and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime x2 

Faisal KHALIL, 27, of the City of Toronto: Trafficking a Controlled Substance , Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime 

Erskin SPRINGER, 64, of the City of Brampton: Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution 

Thi Thanh NGUYEN, 44, of the City of Hamitlon: Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution
