Toronto police make an arrest after a woman found dead at a home

Toronto Police Service has made an arrest in connection with a homicide in the city. In a news release, police stated that on Monday, December 1, 2025, a deceased victim was found inside a residence in the area of Yonge Street and Kempford Boulevard.

Police say that the circumstances in which the woman was found were deemed suspicious and subsequently an investigation was launched. The victim has been identified as 71-year-old Toronto resident Tatiana Shamalov. In connection with her death, police arrested a 44-year-old Toronto man, Imtiaz Ahmed, on Monday, December 15, and charged him with manslaughter.

He was set to attend a court appearance at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, located at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in courtroom 105. This marks Toronto’s 39th homicide in 2025.
