Toronto police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in a violent assault that sent a victim to hospital earlier this week.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, around 5:50 p.m., when officers were called to the area of Yonge Street and Empress Avenue for reports of an unprovoked attack.
Investigators say the victim was walking in the area when a man approached from behind and assaulted him. The victim was later transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. Police confirmed the victim and suspect were strangers.
The suspect has been identified as 33 year old Cassim Cummings of Toronto. He is wanted for Assault Cause Bodily Harm.
Cummings is described as 5’10”, approximately 165 pounds, with a thin build, short black hair, and a black beard. Police have released an image in hopes that the public may help locate him.
