York Regional Police seek witnesses in serious east gwillimbury collision

The York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit is asking for the public’s help following a serious two-vehicle collision in the Town of East Gwillimbury. 

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Woodbine Avenue and Ravenshoe Road. 

Investigators say one of the vehicles; a silver sedan, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. The male driver of the sedan suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma centre in Toronto. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. 

The investigation is ongoing. Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
