Toronto man arrested in human trafficking case Spanning two provinces

The Toronto Police Service has announced the arrest of a 36-year-old man in connection with a human trafficking investigation spanning southern Ontario and British Columbia. 

According to investigators, the probe began in June 2025, led by the Human Trafficking Unit. Police allege the accused used deception, coercion, and control to traffic a female victim. The victim was allegedly transported to various locations across the two provinces to provide sexual services, with all earnings surrendered to and kept by the accused. 

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, members of the Toronto Police Service Human Trafficking Enforcement Team located and arrested Jaden Grant-Vanderland, of Toronto. He now faces multiple charges, including: 

  • Trafficking in persons by recruiting 
  • Trafficking in persons by exercising control 
  • Financial or material benefit from trafficking a person over 18 
  • Material benefit from sexual services 
  • Procuring or recruiting a person to provide sexual services for consideration 
  • Procuring/exercising control 
  • Advertising another person’s sexual services 

Grant-Vanderland appeared in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Friday, July 11, 2025.
