York Regional Police have arrested a motorcyclist for speeding close to 300 km/h and several other serious offences.

On July 4, 2025, around 10:30 a.m., officers from the York Regional Police Regional Enforcement Priority (REP) team spotted a black Yamaha motorcycle speeding northbound on Highway 404 near Bloomington Road in Aurora. The YRP Air Support Unit was in the area and continued to track motorcycles from above.

The rider stopped at a gas station on Elgin Mills Road, stole fuel, and fled the scene. He then re-entered Highway 404 southbound and continued westbound on Highway 407, riding recklessly, lane-splitting, weaving through traffic, and exceeding speeds of 200 km/h.

Eventually, he stopped at a commercial building on Avebury Road in Mississauga, where he tried to enter the underground parking area with the help of an accomplice through a man-door. Shortly after, he left the area in a rideshare vehicle. Police later located the motorcycle inside the building, which had a fake license plate.

Officers eventually intercepted the rideshare vehicle outside the suspect’s home in Richmond Hill and arrested him.

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Stunt Driving
