There are always new trends circulating on social media platforms or YouTube, and one Orem, Utah, family is raising awareness about how some of those trends can turn dangerous.8 years old Parker Tenney saw a trend on You Tube shorts and gave it a try . They had heard on YouTube Shorts … that if you put these squishy balls in the microwave for 30 seconds, it’ll make them extra squishy,” explained Parker’s mom, Cathy Tenney.
The boy put the Needoh squishy ball in the microwave ,The gel inside the toy exploded and burnt the boy standing shirtless. Parker has spent 18 days at University of Utah Burn Center and had 2 skin grafting surgeries .He was sent home with a protective vest but it will take up to 2 years for complete healing . A description on the website of the company that produces NeeDoh balls warns people not to heat, freeze, or microwave them.
