Brampton, ON – Peel Regional Police are searching for a suspect allegedly behind a fraudulent contractor scheme that defrauded Brampton residents of over $800,000.

Investigators say complaints began to surface last summer involving a business operating under the name A&E Contractors. However, police later determined the company had no legitimate business presence, physical address, or corporate records — raising red flags about the legitimacy of the operation.

According to police, multiple victims came forward claiming they were scammed by the company, which falsely presented itself as a reputable home contracting service. Losses reported to date exceed $800,000, and investigators believe there could be more victims who have yet to come forward.

A warrant has been issued for Timothy Glen Carter, who is wanted on charges of fraud over $5,000 in connection with the alleged scheme.

“Peel Regional Police is committed to sharing information to help keep community members and their families safe from falling victim to fraud, including how to spot and report fraudulent activity,” the service said in a statement.

Police are urging anyone who may have had dealings with Carter or A&E Contractors to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, ext. 2133.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca. Tipsters remain anonymous, do not have to testify in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
