Peel Regional Police say a 29-year-old woman has died after being struck by a cube van in Brampton on Thursday evening.
Police report that the collision occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road. The woman was crossing the intersection when a cube van travelling eastbound on Queen Street West made a right turn onto McLaughlin Road and struck her.
The victim was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators say the driver of the cube van did not stop immediately after the collision and continued driving for a short distance before being stopped by police officers. At this time, authorities have not announced whether any charges will be laid.
